Cardinal Chapter of ENA Education Summer Scholarship 2025

As part of our mission of advancing nursing education, the Cardinal Chapter of the ENA is announcing the annual education scholarship for 2025. Applications are currently open and will close on June 30, 2025, at 23:59 hours. Criteria and links to apply and provide information are included below and in the attachment. Amount: Two (2) $500 annually

Application Criteria:

• Must be a current resident of North Carolina.
• Must possess a valid, non-restricted, nursing license (RN) issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• Must be a full or part-time student enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program. 
• At the time of application, applicant must be an active ENA voting member - attending at least 80% of the Cardinal Chapter meetings (5 out of 6).
• Applicant must be in good standing at their educational institution with a GPA of at least 3.0. 
• Applicant must attend one North Carolina ENA State or Chapter sponsored educational event.
• Applicant must demonstrate a strong desire to enter/remain in emergency medicine upon graduation.

Submission Criteria:

• Verification from the current ENA chapter president of meetings attended.
• Proof of paid tuition.
• Proof of North Carolina state residency (valid NC Real ID Driver's license).
• Proof of active RN license issued by North Carolina Board of Nursing (NCBON).
• A copy of their school's acceptance letter or most recent transcript demonstrating good academic standing.
• A brief essay (maximum 500 words) describing their intent to enter/remain in a career in emergency medicine.
• Completion of the application in entirety.
• Letter of recommendation by one professor or employer. Letters of recommendation by family and co-workers are not accepted.

Scholarship Timeline and Restrictions:

• Application will open annually on May 1st and will close on June 30.
• The applicant will be selected by the current Cardinal Chapter ENA board members by July 31 yearly.
• Awardee will be announced at the August Cardinal Chapter Membership meeting.
• Recipient will be chosen based on the application criteria, intent to enter/remain in emergency medicine, and letter of recommendation.
• Current ENA Cardinal Chapter board members are not eligible to apply for the scholarship, unless there are no additional applicants meeting the provided criteria.

• Email proof of paid tuition, North Carolina state residency, school's acceptance letter or most recent transcript, and letter of recommendation to cardinal@northcarolinaena.org
• The complete application and all associated documents must be received by July 31 at 23:59 hour.
